About

My skills are highlighted by the many years I have worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and schools. I provided a referral service with agencies specializing in foster care children who had been sexually abused, and a non-profit agency specializing in teen mothers who were able to come to my office. I expanded my practice to include providing psychotherapy services in the home for patients unable to travel. I have been in private practice for 30 years and continue to offer therapy to children, adolescents, adults, mother-baby pairs, and couples. I incorporate art psychotherapy into all of those services when needed and requested.

Linda Siegel is a NY state NY-licensed and Board Certified Creative Arts Psychotherapist and a NY state NY-licensed minister of Spiritual Counseling. She is a Certified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, a Certified Parent-Infant Psychotherapist, and a Certified Psychoanalytic Couples Psychotherapist. Ms. Siegel brings knowledge, creativity, and wisdom to over 30 years of experience working with depression, anxiety, addictions, foster care, teen mothers, parent-infant dyads, couples, and creativity development.

Why The Creative Process

  • Creative Process
  • The creative process includes all senses. This is an important part of my work. Seeing, feeling, sensing, listening, and visualizing, through the use of art making, writing, using sound and movement in natural ways. I am trained in creativity development, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, child and adolescent psychotherapy, couples psychotherapy, and mindfulness.

  • Focus

  • Focusing on one’s creativity is not just art making. It is bringing into being one’s ability to have a creative life. I understand having a creative life to mean holding an interest in one’s self and others and being open to new ways of seeing oneself and the world. It is about finding small moments in which to embrace. It is about utilizing these moments and expanding them to include more and more of your life.
